Explaining Ebook Websites
Recently, I was amazed by the fact that some web designers had no ideas what ebook web design was all about and had no idea of ebook websites.
Perhaps the fact that its so unusual to me is the fact that I have been working in this area for a while. However, I asked around and few people and they told me that it is actually quite difficult to explain a web designer how to design an ebook website. The problem is that ebook website design isn’t your traditional web design where people can get quite creative in the way that they design websites. When your average web designer sees an ebook website, he would typically think that the site is too simple, stupid and would never make any money. How do I know this? Because I was just like that. This is what they teach you at uni and you can’t really blame the web designers, however at the end of the day its the money that your website brings.
The main question is, do you really want to give your online business to someone who is trying to be creative in designing websites and has no experience in making something that sells and has an ongoing conversion rate of 1% or more? So, when you are approaching a web designer, be persistent in explaining what you actually want, use examples, make sure that web designer understands and overview the website, when it is done.
